Which English Bible this site quotes, how quotations are handled, and where interpretation begins.
Our house Bible
This site's physical house reference is the Revised Standard Version Armenian Church Edition issued in 1994 by the American Bible Society. Its cover reads Holy Bible: “The Breath of God”; its foreword and supplementary material were supplied within the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America.
The words of Scripture are the Revised Standard Version, so quotations on this site are identified as (RSV). The edition places that English translation in an Armenian Apostolic setting. We do not publish a precise list or order for the 1994 volume until its complete table of contents has been checked.
How quotations are handled
Quoted words are kept separate from our explanations. We reproduce the RSV wording, punctuation, and capitalization; mark omissions with an ellipsis; cite the full verse range; and do not silently modernize a quotation. A short explanation is an interpretation, not a replacement for reading the passage in context.
Where a verse's own dialogue appears inside our quotation marks, the RSV's double quotation marks are printed as single quotation marks, following standard English nesting.
Our Armenian Apostolic lens
Thanks to Jesus is written from within the Armenian Apostolic tradition while welcoming readers from every background. Scripture is read in the worshipping life of the Church, alongside the apostolic faith received in its creeds, liturgy, councils, teachers, and saints. Where Christians differ, we aim to name the tradition or interpretation instead of presenting one view as the only possible reading.

Short quotations can invite reflection, but they cannot carry a whole chapter's argument or a book's full story. Use the references on each page to continue reading in your own Bible or an authorized RSV reader.
