Water into wine · John 2:1–11
At a wedding, the wine ran out. Jesus told the servants to fill six large jars with water, and it became good wine. John calls this the first sign he records.
What it points toJohn says the sign revealed Jesus' glory and led his disciples toward faith (John 2:11). Christians may also receive the story as an image of abundant joy and transformation, but that is a devotional application rather than John's only stated point.
